4 cups bread flour
1 envelope dry active yeast
2 teaspoons salt
2 teaspoons sugar
1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
1/2 teaspoon oregano
1 3/4 cups warm water
3 tablespoons olive oil
2 teaspoons cornmeal
For the toppings:
1/2 cup pizza sauce
8 ounces fontina cheese, shredded
16 ounces fresh mozzarella cheese, sliced
1 pound Italian sausage, cooked and crumbled
7 ounces pepperoni
1 pound prosciutto
Instructions:
In a large mixing bowl, combine bread flour, yeast, salt, sugar, garlic powder, and oregano. Mix well.
Add warm water and olive oil to the mixture. Mix until the dough comes together.
Turn the dough out onto a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until it becomes smooth and elastic.
Place the dough in a lightly oiled bowl, cover with a damp cloth and let it rise for about 1 hour, or until it doubles in size.
Preheat the oven to 425°F.
Lightly grease a deep dish pizza pan with olive oil and sprinkle with cornmeal.
Roll out the pizza dough and press it into the bottom and up the sides of the prepared pizza pan.
Spread the pizza sauce over the dough.
Sprinkle the shredded fontina cheese over the sauce.
Layer the mozzarella cheese slices over the fontina cheese.
Spread the cooked sausage over the cheese.
Arrange the pepperoni and prosciutto over the sausage.
Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the crust is golden brown and the cheese is melted and bubbly.
Allow the pizza to cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving.
